Meet the seven core organisers behind Sweden Innovation Days including Vinnova – Sweden’s Innovation Agency, the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas – a Swedish research council for sustainable development, SISP – Sweden’s Incubators and Science Parks and Ignite Sweden.
Vinnova – Sweden’s Innovation Agency
For us, innovation is about bold thinking and doing things differently to improve people's lives and our planet. We believe innovation is needed everywhere in society. This will make Sweden competitive and our world a different place. Vinnova is a government agency under the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, and the national contact authority for the EU framework programme for research and innovation. We’re also the Swedish Government's expert authority in innovation policy.
Swedish Energy Agency
The Swedish Energy Agency is a government agency responsible for matters around the supply and use of energy in Sweden. The agency is Sweden’s largest public funder and facilitator of sustaintech companies, supporting national business development that allows for commercialisation and export of promising innovations. They also support research on new and renewable energy technologies, smart grids, vehicles, and fuels of the future.
Formas – A Swedish research council for sustainable development
Formas is a government research council for sustainable development. We fund research and innovation, develop strategies, perform analyses and conduct evaluations. Specialising in environment, agricultural sciences and spatial planning, they conduct evidence syntheses analyses that aim to make it easier for Sweden to achieve its environmental objectives. Formas also communicates research and research results.
Business Sweden
Business Sweden is commissioned by the Government and the Swedish industry to help Swedish companies grow global sales and international companies to invest, expand and collaborate in Sweden. With networks at all levels, we offer strategic advice, information and hands-on support in more than 40 of the world's most attractive markets. Business Sweden, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, is jointly owned by the Swedish government and the Swedish industry
AI Sweden
AI Sweden is the national center for applied artificial intelligence, jointly funded by the Swedish government and our partners, both public and private. Their mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of Swedish society, Sweden's competitiveness, and for everyone living in Sweden.
Ignite Sweden
Ignite Sweden is a non-profit initiative part of SISP- Swedish Incubators & Science Parks that aims to foster innovation and accelerate commercialisation by connecting startups to large companies and public organisations. Since it began in spring 2017, Ignite has matched over 1200 startups with 300+ corporates and public organizations in more than 5700 curated matchmaking meetings, resulting in
over 453 commercial collaborations.
SISP
Swedish Incubators and Science Parks (SISP) is Sweden’s industry association for incubators and science parks. Through strong collaboration between their members and Sweden’s leading universities, private sector actors, public organizations, and customers, SISP aims to develop the world’s most effective innovation ecosystem and tackle today’s biggest challenges.
