Welcome to day two of Sweden Innovation Days. What changes are most needed to create impact in our society? Lisen explores both the biggest challenges and the most important success factors to achieve impactful innovation.
The ability to envision alternative futures is a superpower that can give us surprising and even radical new ideas on what to do today in order to create a sustainable future. To take agency of the future, realising that the future is not something that just happen to us, but in fact is what we make it into. As food for thought, we will share a scenario of an alternative future, to carry the question "what if" through the day. A piece of gravel in the shoe that disturbs, a seed of hope that can grow - a vision of what might become, or not, to provoke feelings and insights which lays the foundation of a dialogue.
This session will be broken into two parts. Firstly, the unexpected crisis in the global food supply chains and the consequences for Sweden. This will take an international outlook on the global food chains that Sweden depends on and explore how the outside world affects Sweden and our food preparedness.
The second part will discuss blue food – a key to sustainable food in the future. Seafood can make a substantial contribution to our future food supply. Blue food is a seafood center that brings together research and a diversity of Swedish actors to build the conditions for Swedish production of the seafood of the future.
Making the transition to climate-neutral and sustainable cities requires cooperation between citizens, politicians, businesses and civil servants on a scale never seen before. National, regional and local levels must work collectively in new ways, in the same direction to achieve climate-neutral cities. And we need to do it faster.
The session focuses on Northern Sweden’s second industrial transformation and the societal challenges this entails. Every actor within the civil society needs to contribute to creating sustainable and attractive living conditions to cope with the ongoing change. This encompasses, among other things, infrastructure, energy supply, attracting workforce and skills development strategies. How do we build future societies and a framework to make both people and companies contributing to a sustainable energy systems, industry and societies flourish?

Sweden has ambitious goals regarding the transport sector. By 2030, they aim to reduce emissions from transport by 70 percent compared to 2010. There is still a way to go before reaching these goals, but Sweden has made significant progress within heavy duty transport and logistics. In this session we take a closer look at flagship projects, disruptive startups and Sweden’s largest port, which is a true frontrunner within sustainable logistics.
Challenge-based innovation with AI Sweden and Zenseact. The focus of this session is to show how societal challenges can best be solved by the power of a collective approach. By investing together and sharing with many, we can scale faster and reach bigger impact.
Sustainably sourced metals and minerals are make-or-break for the green transition. So, how can actors innovate fossil-free, circular and safe societies by adopting a systems-approach? Join us as we uncover how Swedish Mining Innovation scaled a system demonstrator into innovation export and catalysed global impact. Along with an expert panel we discuss how taking a systems-view of innovation can transform value chains and resolve societal missions, with sustainable mining as a case study.

There is a tangible need for Swedish language models, both in the public and private sectors. The GPT-SW3 project brings together stakeholders from public sector, industry and academia with the aim of reducing the threshold for using advanced language models to solve text-processing tasks. This will lead to a disruptive change and acceleration in the use of AI-driven Swedish language technology. Seen from a democratic perspective, the models can help bring citizens and customers better services with increased accessibility.
